A swedish fairytale

A long time ago, there was a boy. He was sitting on a stair in the summer sun. Just had his breakfast and a good nights sleep is behind him. An open book on his knees and he is reading, reading very concentrated and curious a book of flowers because he found so many different in his garden, that he just had to know more about them.
Suddenly a read dragon fly sits on the book page. Doing nothing more then just to sit and the kid is amazed. Just for a moment he thinks this is unreal but then he wonders, wonders why just now this animal is coming to him as the dragon fly moved its head and say: -Boy, if you will not shut down your mouth, you're never gonna ask me why I can help you to get the answers to your questions!-
Of course our little Boy is surprised and has hard to get an answer, but as the dragon fly is trying to fly away, he starts talking and first he is asking the dragon fly if this is real or just in his mind. But the dragon fly has no answer to this but tells him if he wants to take a ride then he just has to close his eyes for a moment and when he opens them he will be on his best adventure ever.
Sure our boy is a bit afraid and has his doubts but then he thinks, why not, if this is really happening then it has to be like it will be but if he open his eyes and still sits on the stairs, well then this will tell him he had a dream.
So he closes his eyes for a moment and at the same time he started to feel that something is changing. And as he opens his eyes again he knows right away why. He has become smaller, much more smaller and he is sitting on the back of the dragon fly, ready to fly away and so they do not wast a second.
Our little boy Moritz, he feels the wind and in the beginning there is so much to see that he lose his control over the path. He does no longer know where they are or where he is going to fly. Just now he sees trees, and plants going by, and some colorful shimmering through the branches and twigs. He hears the wind rush in his ears and then they land. Land in the middle of nowhere and under a little and very young tree. Moritz sits down by the dragon fly. Looking around and has to take his hand before his face because the sun is bedazzle him. After a while he discover a little red house up on a tree.
Of course he wonders who is living there and so he ask the dragon fly but the answer he gets is to go to the house and knock on the door.
Then the dragon fly is all of a sudden flying away, leaving our boy alone without the promised answered. A moment of despair but Moritz has nothing to get from it so he decides to go to the house and do as he is told. Actually he has to climb up a bit but as he always like to climb with his dad everywhere they are, he has easy with it and just minutes after he waits for someone to open the door.
But there is no one home. So what to do now he wonders. Looking around, he thinks it's maybe best to go down again and find someone to ask the way back home, because just now he wonders if he ever comes home. And while climbing down a wind comes up and blows him of and into the air and just seconds later he lands on a leaf.
Upon him a very beautiful flower. She immediately starts to speak to Moritz. - Little man can you help me and give me some water? I am so thirsty.- Moritz is looking up to her, shaking his head to be sure he was not dreaming, that a flower has just spoke to him. As he becomes sure he says:- Of course, of course I just have to....- and he searches the ground for something which looks like water and there not far away was a fantastic fountain.
He jumps down without any fear and runs to it.
But how to bring the water from the fountain to the flower? Moritz can't find something which could help and so he believes he had to pray for a flash of ideas.
What would Moritz do at home? He lives in a big town, where everyone seems to have everything and you just have to go out of your house and buy in a store what you need if you have not it home.
This is ridiculous! How can there be a store in the wood?! There must be an other way!
Just when Moritz think he will not find a solution he found his hands. Use your hands! He thinks and so he does.
Thought this took him a long time but at the end the flower was satisfied and humming. How lucky Moritz got. But now he has to move on and so he says goodbye and as he is taking his first steps right into the wood, ready to find his way home, the flower calls him to search for the butterfly, who is always next to the rose.
Moritz, already in the wood, is smiling because he believes the flower was just repeating a poem or something like this. You know, there was not a single rose in the wood and the wood became more and more mysterious as he went on.
So many ways, so many fallen trees, so many possibilities to come home.
Just like home, when he walked between all the houses, along all the streets he never knew and when he think something is near, he realize after a while that he was wrong and his way needed more steps to take. Just like when he thinks everyone is nice to everyone, he realize some people are just mean without a reason. It seems like this but he thinks that can't be. Why dislike someone?

Seems Moritz has to go a long way through the wood as he sees a bike. Could this be a sign that he is on the right way?
He looks around but no one is to see. Who owns a bike? Who left it there?
He calls, shouts and listen into the wood but again, no one's home. How strange.
Can this become more strange?
It can and as he decides to go further he comes along dead trees areas just like in dark histories for children.
Moritz feels he loses his positive attitude for the walk home. He thinks that he will not find his way back. Not today. As this is not enough his stomach reminds him, that he needs something to eat. But no berries, no mushrooms are on his way. What a strange wood. What a strange way.
Just before the last rays of sun are coming up, Moritz sees a chair. Like a throne. A throne in the wood and it was very much like it, because this chair seems to be on a higher top.
But it was just a chair and again, after searching, calling, no one calls back, no one comes. Moritz decide to climb on and then sit on the chair. He needs a break and will only close his eyes for a moment.
The moment obviously became a few hours as it is dark when he awakes. Completely lost his orientation he has to remember what he saw last time. And he remembers a little shed on the right side of him, just a few meters away. The moon shines through the clouds and trees just in the moment when he stands up and wants to go there.
Lucky guy he is, that the moon is not thinking to leave him and so he comes to something made of lumber. Moritz is very tired and wants to sleep as he knows there is just now nothing he can do to come out of this situation. Looking down to find the right place to plane the right position for the night, he discover a naked snail.
Has it rained he wonders but then he just ask the snail, where she is going and if she can tell him where he is. The snail, not happy having company on her way, just answer with a very bitchy tone that the stupid boy has to ask the frog as she does not care about him.
A frog? In the wood? Where? Moritz is trying to find this guest in the house and there it is, right in the corner, trying to get on with his way through the wood and night, because he is not afraid and does not need light to know where to lay his feet.
Moritz, smart as he is, offers to help for a question.
The frog first not wanted to listen, but as Moritz talks to him again the frog man stops his action, sights and looks to him. - O.k. Kid, was is the question?-
Moritz, happy that someone seems willing to help him ask about a way out of the wood.
-Easy my little kid. Just follow the sun in the sky, she should be always right above you and watch the clouds they used to go westward, so you know where north is. Because it is the way north. Never leave the path you find behind this pergola. It is the only right path and on the intersections of two paths, look for the gray flower and there you can ask the bees for the rest of the way. Don't be afraid of them, they just want the honey of the flower but if you will be hectic they will fight you, because they will be remind of their enemies. Don't ask me who they are, but maybe you can imagine, as people like to go to war.-
That was just an amount of information and clearly the frog has to get his help and for a short moment Moritz though this little frog wears a hat. Just like being in Alice in Wonderland. What a nice thought.

The next morning, first blind from the sun rays, Moritz is ready to try it again, finding his way back home and getting the answer he was looking for.

With this sunny day, the wood was less scary and seems right about as it was and so interesting. He could smell so much different and new and all the little insects who where just now not that little because he himself was still a small man.
Sure he maybe had been faster when he would have been bigger but that thought never came up to him. Instead he was jumping and humming and singing quietly and had easy to find berries to eat. He felt just happy. Another day, another chance and it all has just started so he was very astonished as he already came to the point where two paths cross each other. It felt a moment sad for him, but just a little moment and then he found that silver flower. There was a bee but no, there were two, no three, no four and more and more. Moritz wait and counts the bees. Seven bees on just one flower and they really did not seem to notice him. Sure, Moritz did as he has been told and was slowly and silent when he came. But he has to ask for the way so he clears his throat softly.
You may think a bee can't talk to a little kid, who is actually big as they are. So imagine how afraid you could be asking a bee. But Moritz was not afraid, just had his question and longing to come home.

The bees were very nice to him. It was the left way he had to take, just one hour and he will see the wood will lighten and then the sand will come. He will come out of the wood but has to go in again to finally come out of him. The last steps are to take over a bridge which may or may not go over water and then he will arrive at the big ocean. There somewhere he has to search for the roses and the butterfly.
Yes, again- those roses and the butterfly. Was this actually something real?
Moritz promised himself to take it seriously and look out for them.
Ninety minutes later, Moritz leaves the wood and then found a dark entrance into it again.

Deep breaths later, after another long walk through a narrow forrest, Moritz could see a bridge shining through the branches and as he comes nearer he not only sees sand, he feels it and a very warm breeze welcomes him as he finally stand on a sand dune and has the most wonderful sight he has ever seen in his life.

What a relief. What a joy.
Now the roses! Where are they?
Two hours later he found them and just three meters from them he found the butterfly. Waiting for him.
Telling him, that he will get his answer soon, soon but not now.
Oh what a disappointment. But then it was not such, because he could not remember what question it was. Was there ever a question?
Was there? Was there any question then the way back home?
- Come on kid, sit on me, I fly you home, fly you home over the ocean, the hills, the seas, the fields, the woods, the houses and streets and be sure you will feel save on my back.-
Moritz had not a single doubt that this was true and now he is flying, high above the earth and while he feels the wind whispering into his ears he understands, that he always was home as long he listened to his heart and had trust in what may come.
Smiling is the time going by and he is falling asleep.

Back in his own family garden he is still a little kid, little like the dragon fly and the butterfly who is telling him, that courage was all it took to take him through this adventure. The courage to stand up for what feels right and to respect each others life and being curious.
Had he come home if he did not showed respect to the animals in the wood? Maybe not, because then he maybe would just now searching still his way out of the dark, while feeling that he could starve himself to death.
So Moritz felt just great and grateful and while he closes his eyes just to enjoy this moment he grow, grow and grow and became as he was before, a little man, a human child on this wonderful planet, called earth, which is worth every fight to keep it alive- that for sure he knows for all the time in his life.

So my dear readers, just a little story from a beach in Sweden and the wood you have to went through to see the ocean.
Have a nice day, night ... and as always

LOVE & LIGHT
