Where to draw the line?

A question I ask myself from time to time. 

Just yesterday when I watched the final of the - melodifestival - from Sweden and Måns Zelmeröw became the winner with his song "Heros", I also got remind of his drunk talking about Gays. He showed a homophobe side and afterwards he has regret it and said sorry. In Sweden for the most people therefore it is settled that he is o.k. again now. 

Question is, is he? Because we tend to show our true side when we are drunk. Or was it just a stupid mistake and we should take it as such? 

Or the other day when I read about Russel Tovey and that he was talking about liking his muscles and being happy not looking feminine. He got a shit storm and people called him racist agains feminine boys and man. They called him having a problem with his feminine side and man who are less strong build. I found nothing like this in his speech, though he pleased for forgiveness and said sorry. But I though why does he have to, as I did not felt offensive. Actually I wonder if those people accusing him of being racist are those who have a problem. It is not a  secret that many gays have a problem with drags, feminine boys and like this as they don't feel comfortable with their own "women" side. Mostly surly they only do feel unsure for a short time as they get comfort of being out as gay man with time and so also with the other side. 

Discrimination is often something very difficult to tell as it is much about the other person who feels being discriminated or offend like a colored man can feel himself as a victim of the joke you just made. 

Just now we also have a backlash in sexuality and the freedom we got since the 60-70`s. 

I mean now a painting from a young boy from Caravaggio is called pornography as it shows a nude child and so a man or women is a pedophile liking this kind of painting. 

It reminds me of a time when giving as a boy a girl a piece of candy in her mouth with your own hands was a reason to get suspended from school.

Our political correction of thinking, our you must never discriminate in no way anybody, our many rules against making people offensive have lead to a big problem and got us to a line we have hard to see. A very thin line and our black and white thinking and - only I'm right- thinking, have lead us to a very questionable place. The place of the questions when is it to much, when is it true what you say as people use to swing in their ways. 

But then we also got a problem with the healthy way of being able to change your opinion and being able to learn from mistakes. We have learned to not to trust them as certain people misused them.

So where to draw a line? 

One may think a healthy human mind is able of thinking self and being able to see it. But we have become so unsure that even when we try it is hard to find a point to be sure that what we heard is what we can believe, thought we want to believe it is true, like when Måns is telling he has no problems with gays and does not know why he told such a stupid thing. 

But the thing is- I do not know him in private. So how do I know he is what he was telling? How can I make a joke about a colored people without that anyone gets offend? Is it possible? 

The truth is maybe, you can talk and act in a common ways but when you look over your own fence and therefore risk more, you won't be sure but can hope. 

Which does not means we have borders we should respect and except and there are things absolutely going to far, but though it seems so clear, sometimes we come them near and then we reach those line. 

A line we can cross or just touch like Johnny Depp in the movie "Into the wood" where he plays the wolf and in such a way that he is in danger to cross the line to be a pedophile but he never did. Thought some may already be offend. 

No, the world has not become to complicated but we have become to afraid to react calmly and first think before talk. We must learn again and teach each other to not immediately kill people when they tell what they see or believe. We also have to teach each other again more about meanings of words and to use our words more wisely again. I really do believe that many people mean no harm and just use the wrong words. Also many people overreact to much. 

Sadly the actual situation makes it much harder to discuss with people about certain themes. As we, because of those reaction system, judge to quickly. But here we have to, no we must get aware of the backlash which is just going on! Our actual chain reaction is helping those who lead the backlash. Far too many also like it as it feels comfortable and makes some people more powerful as being back in the old conservative times means people are more afraid and easier to lead. 

So I feel we have to take it more seriously with the question- where to draw the line?!

remember this year Eurosvison/ ESC? Who had those dresses on.. Yes it was Petra Mede the Woman who "helped" you through the show...

  ......And so it is time for another Museum and now if you let me introduce you.. Jean Paul Gaultier. His first Art and Vision Excipition. 
When you first step in, you see a lot of "Muppets" and they are also talking to you. Well, not really that good as the idea sounds. It was too much of a sound cloud in this room and I just thought- Oh the poor young man standing at the door just to watch us tourists not to touch the cloths and to do it right when making a foto without flashing lights, he has to hear it all day long, this cloud of horrible sounds. And then I though the cloths for Pret- a -Porte are not looking that glamourous as it known from papers and TV or movies. 
But then again, it was just the first room and when we went on, it became a very fascinating and lovely show of his work and art and so this, this was very good and nice and we enjoyed it very much at the end. Just watch the pics.
 
After seeing all this, we though going to Skansen- to "Allsang pa skansen" a show which is every year through the summer time, where everyone meets and sings together, but heaven was full of clouds and we where unshure if it would rain or not and to be honest we needed to eat and also we had a bit of a cold. So changes of planes and looking out for a place to eat in the " Gamle Stan" and then see what comes. 
At the end part of us went home, too tired, feeling this would better- like me- to be home and getting not sick and part went to the "Allsang" and had bit of fun and it did not rain after all. Although I really wanted to be there, at least I think I try it next year again. Health is more importand then a party.
 
Next days I took it very calm. Above my dayly meditations. I was shopping- did not find all what I was looking for- had my quite Birthday- I never liked to celebrate my b-days, not even as a child and was watching films, which you can read about, when I write my point of view about them in the next days. So watch out for the next postings!

What more? I was meeting friends and having a very loving time in Stockholm, saw more new parts of the town and went to the borough Husby on wednesday, where- you maybe remember the fire in the beginning of spring, the burning cars and the shooten man, shoot from a Policeman to dead- I meet another dear friend, who volontaired the week before for the Pride week, which is as he told mea lot of work, but fun, which I can imaging, cos helping people can be fun. And after all you feel good, that you did something meanful and not got drunk instead.

Husby was quite, maybe it was because it was the last day of Ramadan, but to be true it is not the nicest place, but not at all the dangerous place like the press use to tell people.

it's nature, it's pure and it's art... and bigger inside then in London... you an breath...

So being in Stockholm, in Sweden was also, talking in swedish next to all the time, reading in swedish and dreaming in swedish. It was home for me and I really did not want to go home to Berlin, but as it use to be- every must have an end and the rain starts, when I was leaving. 
Back in Germany the clouds where there too but oh so colorful, it was so nice to watch at and the hot weather was over again. But as life is. being back in the bus, driving through town, who was I listening to? Swedish people and at last I started thinking in english.

Starting all over again, the usual life now. Much is to be done the next days and weeks. For a lot of changing will come. The job, the new hearing pots, the big holiday in Bali awaits and a new flat is on the way. Also to plan the rest of the year to go to school for three weeks to learn, maybe a better english or spanish as a beginners. And so will the next kid in my family go to school. Is it already time for that?

ESC

Now the ESC is over we still question was it right the way we did?
Well after all what had happen? The Song Contest was in a country which won last year the Show and so we were guests in a country which is no democracy. To say it right- to see the shows ( there are two semifinals and one final show) they build a new arena with the help of ... well german people too, but more important then this is...on the place where the new House for ESC is now, once was more then one building where people lived. 
No one ask them if they wanted to move, they simple had no chance, they had to leave. 
It's not the first time the ESC had a controversy with politics... Europe is not everywhere a more or lesson free zone for people to do what they want, to say what they want and so on.... Yes the freedom of speech is something nice we in old Europe like to talk about but the truth in Azerbaijan is.... 
A lot got arrested before the event started just to make sure, that no one will say a critical word and while the artist where in the country, they still arrested people who tried to take the chance to tell to the government and also to the world press. 
But my dear, so many of the guest had the chance to do something to say something in the time while being in this country. What did they all wrote before and said how much they will do, how deep they will take a look. Yes, it's a rule of the content to not say a political word during the show, but you always can say something before or after. Courage is not a word, it's a thing you have to show. 
So I am not for staying away from a show because the politic is not like ours at home... I think we should be there but be true and really take action where we are able to help, otherwise it's a wasted chance. I mean I know a lot say when you watch the show you do a crime and help the bad.... I say only if you close your eyes and mind... that is something to many do.... stupidity... as often.. but then- if we take the chance it's a chance to focus on a country and maybe after the show once more and also it's a chance to bring positive vibrations into a country where people could need the feeling of that the world is watching. It's a help. Not a big one but a sign like... "You are not alone..." Well we can't never fight the way for others... we forget that much to often in our own politics... every country must find it's own way to freedom... but think.. if you are one of those who are against watching such Shows, then do you eat products from Ferreo? Or do you have products from palm oil industry? Or do you use clothes from other countries... well then stop doing it, because the big industry is mostly settle in -no democracy-
      Economics does not care about democracy.  I say.. just think about the way the cloths comes to you..with cars and ships and planes... all need what to drive? Where does this comes from..?  
So to be black and white does simple help less....the world has gone to complicated.... 
And then with this show... should we all do this on the back of the singers unsubscribe? It's first of all a show of songs, singers, dance and yes simple a show which is known for being not really an earnest thing- cos many of the singers are bad or just nothing special.... it became a TV show like so many..or? It's kind of tradition and the only reason to keep it on is (away from the money and the big show for a country- for some but never a reason for us) is... each year we see our neighbors and so we write about them... 
But then again... it's a chance to show courage too and so I am very happy that the winner of this years show LOREEN had shown courage and was part of a show which stood up for democracy which took place in Baku...
But to be ashamed must we, that she was the only one who stood up-  and she tried to talk to the press about it... 
SO this WIN is absolutely worth...
The German Roman Lob just said a few words like that it was good that the show can shine a light on this country and so the press can write about some dark sides too.  
During the show no one was doing or telling something political...No one? Not really--- Well one women had the courage to say something and this was the German Comedy Lady who gave out the german points and she said something like this: "Today no one could vote for his own country. But it's good to be able to vote and it's good to have a choice to vote. Good luck on your journey Azerbaijan. Europe is watching you."
Guess many did not heard it 'cos it was quite loud in the background but never less the Europe could hear it. This is a glimmer of hope and has shown that it is absolutely able to show courage!
