Which is often in use, for they build a lot in Bali and saying thank you and you're welcome- "sama sama" is a thing which balinese take very serious. I often used these words.. ok. not hat-hati, but then, yes and it was so delightful to see the smiling faces. Anyway we were not lazy the next days... while the sun comes and goes always around six o' clock.
Have I already mention that in 1000 meter high there are less rise fields? You find more and more mandarin trees and a lot of vegetable under the trees. Balinese never waste place if they can. And a lot of christmas stars plants on the side on the streets are to find too.
How do you know a glass is really clean. Go out of the room and let the fresh air show it, cos in Bali, the air is very moist.
Now we drove to Ubud and on the way we stopped at the very famous and old and not in use today - the court hall "Kerta Gusa" and next to it the parliament palace. The parliament palace is surrounded with water and so kind of a swimming house and the court house has a very special painting on the roof. It shows the story of gods and it is kind of the history of balinese religion and way of living, about good and bad and what happens when you do the right or wrong thing. It is kind of a bible. A story of a sun who wants to rescue his father a god and his mother a human from hell. Of course all went well in the end cos of the god above all gods and this one makes it alright.
Although it is the same story on every side of the house, just bit different the paintings and as it is, these are not the original colors cos the climate destroy all very fast, so they have to repaint it from time to time and this version is from the eighteens.
But the parliament palace also has such a painting, but here we see the worlds, the upper of the gods and their life, the earth world and it's human and the world of demons in the deep water and under the earth. For balinese it is all about staying in balance and in the middle of everything. Not to much god and not to much earth, not to much of lazy hours or working time.
Later we had the luck of catching the lake Batur. But the way was through the hills and mountains up and down and swinging and better not watching on the streets....
Then we arrived at a very old temple, a Brahma temple, which is the god of art and writing , of building up and once was the number one hindu god in the past.... But then we had to go on driving, until we finally arrived at the Safari Park with the Sumatra Elephants. I took a ride and believe me I wonder how they did it in the past. As long it was slow it was quite o.k. but when it became faster, oh my gosh it was horrible.
Although I am not a big fun of having animals in parks and for shows, they showed a lot respect and they had the luck to move and live as they would without humans... More or lesson.
Then we had only the rest of the way to Ubud into the "Maya Ubud Resort", which is very good and a five star hotel and it says being the best just now in Bali. But to be true... every hotel on our list says it is a very good one and got the best test results or next to the best. Does not say if it really is, but about this, later more.
But first let's talk about the rain which starts the afternoon...
No, again.. enjoy the pics and have fun....
