Stockholm- part 1

And so it is summer again and after I had been not over a several years of being there, my visit in Stockholm again.
This time, again, I lived at a friends home and greatful as I am, I enjoyed the stay there. I had the luck to get to know this town from another side this time again. Which is always something good when it is about places you are not living at.
So I will write about this 8 days in chapters, as you may call it. Not exactly day by day but anyway...
Let's start with the day, when I was leaving Berlin as it became much warmer again. Usually i don't sleep much the night before I travel but I get better with each time and so I slept well, although I had to went up very early.
So from a sunny morning I arrived att a sunny place called Stockholm Arlanda airport.

Though when we where flying over Stockholm itself I looked out of the window and enjoyed the view on the "Gamle stan" part of Stockholm, the centre, the oldes part, the part where the castle is and the ocean meets the "beach" the harbour. For a moment I looked around then in the airplane to see who is also watching the town and the shadow the plane is making but seems I was the only one who actually saw down. Later, like 5 minutes before landing they all looked out for the houses, the streets and the lakes and saw just wood, gras, fields...
Well, I though that's bad luck. Too late guys.
Then I took the train to meet my friend. We finally came together in the centre of the town around lunch time. Thancks to mobiles it is so easy to catch up and while waiting till he arrived with the underground I bought my ticket card and got some money. Thanxs to my swedish, this was easy done.
Then of course we went home to leave the little baggage I had. And like most times in my life when I travel... it is really not much I take with me.

And there in Sweden it was like being home again. You know, traveling from home to home it is for me since a several years.
Sunny wheather after rainy days before, we called a number of frineds to make a picnic in one of the parks in Stockholm, to be more correct, we went to a park next to the Mällaren- thats a part of the sea around this town. So take a map and find out.
We became a bunch of different people who had a very good time eating, chatting and getting to know each other, and yes like a real swedish live, the rain came back for a while, so we rushed under the big tree, eating and chatting there and when the rain became stronger, we just picked up our umberellas and went on. Very much like in an Jane Austen Film/ book. Standing, sitting, chatting, laughing, smiling, eating, drinking and being in the nature.

And nature came to us. Literally the birds -there where so near. But everyting must come to an end and we where freezing a bit too, cos rain, after sunshine, after rain and more sunshine and rain, we became quite a rainy cloud by ourself. So we decided to went to the Mällaren Pavillion, where people can eat and listen to music and as it was, we had PRIDE WEEK and so a queer Klezmer Band was playing and we had our very swedish coffe and cakes and so much fun, while the sun went down in such beautiful colors.
Very late then we drove home and that was one of the best starts for a holliday I had and much because I speak quite good Swedish- so they say, but we had talkings in english, german and russian too.

going down from the airport to...

the train, which took me to Scokholm

in Sweden the picnic goes on, even if it rains

looking to the centrum, being near to it, just about 15 min from the house and the wood is already around...
